Jelly Swarm

After two months of designing, coding and fabrication, and three long nights at the Vancouver Aquarium, our latest interactive artwork, Jelly Swarm is finally installed. Created in collaboration with origami artist, Joseph Wu, it’s a semi-permanent piece for the Aquarium’s Luminescence event.

Conceived as an interpretation of luminescent jellies behaviour, Jelly Swarm features 94 origami jellies with LED modules inside hanging from a custom designed structure. A touch screen panel allows visitors to affect light and colour patterns.

We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity by the Vancouver Aquarium to create Jelly Swarm and grateful for all their help realizing the project.

Thanks for stopping by our new website. It’s taken a while to put this together as we’ve been happily distracted by client projects and artworks. We hope it gives you a better idea of who we are, what we do and what we’ve done.

In the Portfolio and Artworks pages, you’ll see just a snapshot of our work to date. We’ll add more over the next month or so as well as information about new client projects, Tangible Intervention creations, press articles, conference talks and workshops.

Tangible is in constant development so we’ll also do our best to share information on process, materials and open source code.

If you’ve any questions or would like more specific information about our work, please feel free to send us an email.

Thanks again,
The TI team.
