After two months of designing, coding and fabrication, and three long nights at the Vancouver Aquarium, our latest interactive artwork, Jelly Swarm is finally installed. Created in collaboration with origami artist, Joseph Wu, it’s a semi-permanent piece for the Aquarium’s Luminescence event.

Conceived as an interpretation of luminescent jellies behaviour, Jelly Swarm features 94 origami jellies with LED modules inside hanging from a custom designed structure. A touch screen panel allows visitors to affect light and colour patterns.

We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity by the Vancouver Aquarium to create Jelly Swarm and grateful for all their help realizing the project.

Check out the ‘making of’ video on the Aquarium’s YouTube channel.

Fixie bikes are a Vancouver staple, and to pay homage to a favourite mode of city transport, we produced this fun, simple window installation in collaboration with artist, Chairman Ting.

Created for just one night during the annual Vancouver ‘Celebration of Light’ fireworks event, the projected animation was for Single Bicycles, a quality bike builder located downtown on Robson Street.

From concept to production, this piece took over a month to prepare, execute and test before installation. Tom Pettapiece composed and produced the custom music track.
